Job Description

  • We are looking for an experienced FinOps Architect to join our growing organization.
  • As a FinOps Architect, you will analyze cloud spend, identify potential cost savings, define follow-up activities, and increase productivity.
  • You will work closely with our Service Delivery Managers, Technical / Solution Architects and Finance team to ensure we maintain our cloud cost spend and environment stability through data analysis, consulting, accurate documentation, and creative problem-solving.
  • The FinOps Architect is expected to possess excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills necessary to effectively collaborate with key stakeholders across the organization and with our customers.
  • Company is a software-enabled services provider, synonymous with SAP on Cloud, focused on delivering superior, highly automated Managed Services to Enterprise customers. Our customers span multiple verticals and geographies across the Americas, EMEA and APAC.
  • We partner with AWS, SAP, Microsoft and other global technology leaders.

 

Responsibilities Duties:

  • Analyze, optimize, and implement cost optimization actions over different cloud services, particularly IaaS resources
  • Implement and manage automated tools to help identify cost trends, anomalies, and track budget (actuals vs estimates)
  • Set and Track budgets as per customer requirements (by Account, by Project, by cost centre etc)
  • Support our Product Team in building automation that optimizes our internal as well as our customers cloud environments
  • Create financial and usage dashboards
  • Work with our technical teams to design and implement new services in the most cost-efficient way
  • Work with the financial teams on budget, forecast, tagging and related FinOps centric KPI’s and SLA analytics and reporting requirements
  • Work closely with our finance and legal departments to negotiate cost terms and contracts with hyperscaler vendors
  • Work in a dynamic environment and produce high-quality work under tight deadlines.

Key Skills:

  • Certification: Any Hyperscaler Architect Certification (AWS/Azure or GCP).
  • Certification: FinOps Foundation – Certified FinOps Practitioner.
  • Experience in driving deep architectural discussions to help customers ensure they are making the most cost-efficient cloud usage choices.
  • Responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting the cloud optimization practice and make recommendations on reserved capacity strategy, utilization optimization opportunities, product architectural recommendations to promote cost savings, and discounts for optimization.
  • Lead, develop, and implement the processes and capabilities required that ensure costs optimization.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to incorporate cost management best practices into cloud platforms via tagging, alerting and configurations that supports financial monitoring of cloud platforms.
  • Create and oversee a cloud billing dashboard to track, manage and optimize cloud costs and Reserved Instance purchases.
  • Perform consumption analysis to define and execute reserved instances and savings plans.
  • Develop opportunities to optimize costs and operational improvement with key infrastructure and service providers.
  • Knowledge of app & data architectures and cloud native patterns for development, etc.

Experiance Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of experience working on complex Cloud Software Engineering and Architecture initiatives OR a High School Diploma/GED and at least 6 years of experience working on public hyperscaler architecture, at least 2 of which involved cloud economics / FinOps responsibilities.
  • Experience with public cloud architecture, Cloud strategy, networking, security, compliance workload types, migration patterns and tools.
  • Experience with various enterprise applications, ideally SAP and IT services, as well as software development, compliance and security, and IT operations disciplines.
  • Knowledge of cloud design patterns, cloud operations and cloud cost models with experience implementing best practices or suggested improvements.
  • Experience suggesting competitive and innovative technical decisions, obtaining client buy-in and delivering on commitments
  • Experience re-architecting applications for cloud platforms.
