Job Description

  • As an IT FinOps Senior Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through their cloud adoption journey,
  • specializing in the design and implementation of cloud economics with a sharp focus on cloud consumption and value realization. Engaging with senior stakeholders, you will deliver enduring and sustainable transformations

Responsibilities Duties:

Design:

  • Craft and implement IT Finance models tailored for public/private, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
  • Take a holistic approach to modernize client finance models, addressing dimensions such as process, governance, skills, culture, tooling & technology, and organization.

Project delivery:

  • Leading a stream of work as part of a larger engagement.
  • Producing high-quality deliverables and providing crucial input to shape the strategic direction for discovery, design and implementation projects.
  • Developing business cases for cloud adoption or investment including cost benefit analysis and scenario planning.
  • Leverage and maximize clients' investments in ITSM tools and frameworks.

Transformation Roadmaps:

  • Develop comprehensive roadmaps and interim states for transitioning from on-premises CAPEX heavy IT finance models to more OPEX FinOps models for hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

Practice and Sales support:

  • Support pre-sales activities by creating or contributing to proposals, statements of work and responses to customers questions.
  • Demonstrations and ability to articulate the benefits of FinOps services.
  • Identification of existing customer sales opportunities
  • Contribute to the growth and success of our advisory practice by enhancing market offerings, knowledge, and overall strategic goals

Key Skills:

We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record in IT FinOps projects, possessing the following experiences and qualifications:

FinOps Expertise:

  • Proven experience in FinOps projects and initiatives, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of financial operations in the cloud.

Cloud Financial Governance and CoE Setup:

  • Establishing and defining Cloud FinOps Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and governance models for mid-sized to large organizations.

Collaboration with IT Procurement:

  • Experience collaborating with IT procurement teams to optimize cloud-related financial processes.

Cloud Vendor Experience:

  • •    Hands-on experience working with one or more cloud vendors, including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
  • •    Familiarity with cloud contracting models, commitment models, and licensing structures. 

Cost Optimization Techniques:

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud cost optimization techniques across storage, data transfer, compute, database, and monitoring.

Cloud Strategies and Operations:

  • Proficient understanding of cloud strategies, Dev-Sec-Ops practices, and cloud-based operations.

Tools Experience:

  • Hands-on working experience in one or more FinOps and Technology Business Management (TBM) tools like Cloudability, Apptio, CloudCheckr, Cloudhealth, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, etc.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Operations Engineering/Consulting.
  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • Cloud practitioner certification.
  • FinOps certification (Desirable)
