Assistant Financial Accountant
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial ownership for a number of foreign (non-UK) entities (countries) within the Company Group.
- Produce monthly management accounts for each entity – prepayments, accruals etc.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for each entity.
- Ownership of Fiscal calendar for foreign entity accounts to include statutory year end and quarterly & annual tax schedules, ensuring filings completed within timescales.
Responsibilities Duties:
- Manage external audit process with local accountants.
- Assist in production of foreign statutory accounts.
- Partner with local accountants to ensure compliance to foreign entity accounting policies and adherence to external statutory regulations (account filing etc)
- Reconcile statutory accounts to management accounts. Work with Company Finance team to manage all elements of the financial close cycle for local entities.
- As the Financial Accountant – GL you will be responsible for the following:
Key Skills:
- Manage to the monthly close cycle and timetable ensuring periods are closed within given KPI’s.
- Ensure compliance with Company finance policies, standard practices and local statutory requirements.
- Prepare and post monthly accounting entries.
- Bank reconciliations and postings.
- Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Reconciliation of intercompany accounts.
- Manage the local entity VAT processes and reporting.
Experiance Qualifications:
- Part Qualified Professional Accounting Accreditation (i.e. CIMA, ACCA) or QBE.
- Understanding of statutory requirements.
- Strong analytical skills as well as good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Good interpersonal skills and an ability to establish key relationships with a number of stakeholders.
- Flexible approach and ability to operate across all levels of Finance delivery.
- Ability to flex hours during periods of high demand. e.g. month end accounting.
- Strong Excel skills.
- 4+ Years relevant experience.
