Renewable Assets Manager
Job Description
Linum Consult’s client is currently in the process of expanding and are seeking an Assets Manager with a background in renewable energy assets to join their team in Qatar.
PROFILE
• Degree qualification in Engineering with a focus in Renewable Energy, Electrical, or Power, ideally with an MBA
• At least 10 years’ experience in renewables technology, with a minimum of 6 years in renewable energy OEM or operating businesses
• Strong IT skills, particularly with MS Office and utility scale plant design and techno-economic systems (pvDesign, System Advisor Model, etc.)
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with key stakeholders, senior executives, management teams, and external partners/advisors
• Previous experience of working in Qatar and/or other Gulf countries
Responsibilities Duties:
• Managing a portfolio of renewable energy assets, including:
- Clean energy generation technologies (solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal)
- Grid-scale energy storage solutions
- Low-emission fuels and related production technologies, such as biofuels, hydrogen, and electrolysers
• Maintaining awareness of market developments and advancements in clean energy technologies, and their related impacts on the renewable energy industry with particular focus on performance, efficiency, and reliability improvements, as well as lifecycle optimisation
• Conducting detailed financial analyses for the assets, including budget management, cost control and profitability assessments
• Ensuring all operations comply with local, national, and international regulatory requirements, particularly focusing on environmental, safety, and operational regulations pertinent to renewable assets
• Supporting the creation of business plans, the development of budgeting instructions, and the performance of techno-commercial reviews in support of the company’s portfolio planning and budget process
• Leading interactions with suppliers, universities, laboratories, and other stakeholders in setting up technology partnerships and programmes to further the company’s strategic priorities
• Identifying the optimisation and restructuring potential of existing renewable technology service agreements
