Design Director
Job Description
An internationally recognised hospitality design practice is looking to appoint a Design Director in Singapore as part of a long term expansion across Asia. This is a senior leadership position within an established studio known for delivering luxury hospitality projects including hotels, resorts and branded residences for leading international operators and high profile developers. The successful candidate will take creative leadership across major hospitality projects throughout Asia, shaping the design direction from concept through to delivery while ensuring the original design intent and quality are maintained across complex, large scale developments. The role involves leading multidisciplinary design teams, supporting senior project leads and acting as a key client facing figure throughout the design process. You will work closely with global hotel operators and developers, guiding projects creatively while also mentoring designers within the studio and contributing to the overall creative direction and culture of the practice. This position forms part of a considered long term growth strategy across Asia and will play a key role in strengthening the studio’s leadership presence in the region.
Responsibilities Duties:
The role is open to candidates from either an architectural or interior design background, provided they bring strong experience delivering hospitality projects at scale.
The successful candidate will currently be operating at a senior level within an international design practice, ideally with experience working on luxury hospitality projects such as hotels, resorts or branded residential developments.
You should be confident leading projects and design teams, comfortable engaging directly with clients and able to guide projects from early concept stages through to delivery while protecting the creative vision.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills are important, as the role involves supporting and developing senior designers within the studio.
This opportunity is particularly suited to experienced designers currently working in the Middle East who may be considering a move into Asia. Senior opportunities in Singapore are rare due to visa and relocation constraints, however the practice is fully committed to supporting international candidates through the relocation process.
