Development Manager
Job Description
- Lead Migration Projects: Manage end-to-end migration of data from Hadoop and Teradata to AWS Cloud environments, with a primary focus on Databricks and Snowflake platforms.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute migration roadmaps, including strategy, timelines, milestones, and deliverables in alignment with business objectives.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor a team of data engineers, architects, and developers, ensuring high performance, collaboration, and skills development.
- Technical Oversight: Provide hands-on technical guidance in data migration, cloud infrastructure setup, data pipeline creation, and ensuring best practices for data quality, performance, and security.
Responsibilities Duties:
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, project managers, and cloud solution architects to align technical decisions with business requirements.
- Performance Optimization: Drive initiatives for performance tuning, scalability, and optimization of data workloads on Databricks and Snowflake.
- Risk and Compliance: Ensure migration processes adhere to industry standards for data governance, security, and compliance, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Innovation & Improvement: Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and processes to enhance the migration experience and optimize operational efficiency.
Key Skills:
- Technical Expertise: 7+ years in data engineering or development, with at least 3 years in cloud migration projects involving Hadoop, Teradata, and AWS.
- Strong skills in ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, and big data architecture.
- Leadership Experience: 3+ years in a technical lead or managerial role, with demonstrated success in leading and mentoring technical teams ( development and testing teams )
- Proven ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects in fast-paced environments.
Experiance Qualifications:
- Strong Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive root cause analysis.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaboration tools: experienced working in tools like Jira for building detail use stories and tasks for the team
