Senior HVAC Technician
Job Description
The Senior HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems to ensure optimal performance, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort. The role provides technical leadership to maintenance teams, oversees preventive maintenance activities, and ensures compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Technical Certification in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, or a related field.
- HVAC certification or trade license preferred.
- 5–8 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical controls, refrigeration systems, and preventive maintenance procedures.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
Preferred Skills
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Excellent leadership and team supervision skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills in English; Arabic is an advantage.
- Knowledge of energy management and preventive maintenance best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and respond effectively to emergencies.
Responsibilities Duties:
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including chillers, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), ventilation systems, and split air conditioning units.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and implement effective repair solutions.
- Monitor HVAC system performance and recommend improvements for energy efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Lead and supervise junior technicians and provide technical guidance and training.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintain accurate maintenance records and service reports.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and facility management teams for maintenance activities and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and equipment breakdowns.
