Job Description

The Nurse Manager - Labor & Delivery is responsible for managing the day-to-day clinical, operational, and staffing activities of the maternal-child healthcare units. The role ensures the successful execution of patient care plans, department scheduling, and clinical protocol audits while fostering a safe, supportive, and efficient environment for both the nursing staff and expecting families.

Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN) from an approved healthcare institution.

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Washington.

  • 3+ years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience within a Labor & Delivery, postpartum, or neonatal intensive care unit.

Preferred Skills * Strong team engagement, clinical mentoring, and patient advocacy talents.

  • High organizational dexterity to successfully manage critical obstetric emergencies under tight schedules.

  • Excellent verbal articulation and structured communication mechanisms to guide large professional cohorts.

Experience Required 3+ years of professional case management or care coordination experience within an acute healthcare setting, including proven supervisory or charge-nurse duties.

Responsibilities Duties:

Key Responsibilities * Coordinate and execute daily nursing staff assignments, scheduling, and labor ward resource management.

  • Prepare clinical unit performance summaries, audit sheets, and quality assurance compliance records.

  • Monitor delivery room metrics, checking for patient positioning accuracy, protocol tracking, and immediate emergency response.

  • Coordinate with obstetricians, neonatal intensive care units (NICU), pediatricians, and hospital administration networks.

  • Monitor ongoing care workflows and promptly resolve documentation bottlenecks or clinical practice conflicts.

  • Maintain absolute compliance with federal guidelines, hospital policies, and state maternal-child health codes.
