Job Description

The Sr. Interventional Technologist is responsible for operating advanced fluoroscopic and digital angiographic imaging equipment during complex interventional cardiology, radiology, or endovascular procedures. The role ensures the successful execution of sterile field protocols, contrast injections, and real-time imaging optimizations while maximizing patient safety, radiation shielding controls, and clinical team coordination.

Required Qualifications * Valid professional credentialing in Radiography via the ARRT with an advanced primary/post-primary certification in Vascular or Cardiac Interventional Radiography (VI/CI/IR).

  • Valid medical imaging practitioner license within the state of active practice.

  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and BLS certifications.

Preferred Skills * Extensive command over cross-sectional vascular anatomy, multi-vendor angiographic suites, and sterile scrubbing workflows.

  • Calm demeanor and rapid diagnostic thinking under intense, high-acuity surgical environments.

Experience Required 3+ years of professional clinical experience operating multi-detector digital angiographic systems within a busy interventional lab or cardiac catheterization suite.

Responsibilities Duties:

Key Responsibilities * Coordinate and execute highly specialized interventional imaging routines, covering cardiac catheterizations, stent placements, and vascular embolizations.

  • Prepare and calibrate high-resolution digital imaging systems, power injectors, and post-processing tools according to physician preferences.

  • Welcome incoming patients, review chart data for contraindications, and explain the surgical imaging flow clearly.

  • Coordinate with interventional cardiologists, radiologists, scrub nurses, and critical care coordinators.

  • Monitor patient physiologic indicators and imaging readouts during the procedure, promptly addressing equipment variances or contrast anomalies.

  • Maintain absolute compliance with radiation safety parameters (ALARA), meticulously tracking dosing exposures.
