Endocrinologist
Job Description
The Endocrinologist is responsible for diagnosing, managing, and treating a wide spectrum of metabolic, glandular, and hormonal disorders. The role ensures the successful execution of comprehensive outpatient clinics, inpatient endocrine consultations, and specialized hormone regulatory therapies while maintaining the highest standard of patient care, clinical safety, and quality of life.
Required Qualifications * Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an approved medical school.

Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency followed by an Endocrine, Diabetes, and Metabolism Fellowship.

Board Certification or active Board Eligibility via the ABIM within Endocrinology.

Active, unencumbered medical license in the state of Alabama.
Preferred Skills * Advanced familiarity with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) systems, insulin pump analytics, and thyroid fine-needle aspiration (FNA) techniques.

Clear, empathetic communication to manage chronic, long-term metabolic health panels.
Experience Required Successful completion of a formalized subspecialty fellowship footprint or active clinical practice experience within a busy endocrine group.
Responsibilities Duties:
Key Responsibilities * Coordinate and execute clinical evaluations, targeted hormone screenings, and diagnostic profiling for endocrine panels.

Prepare advanced treatment plans for complex conditions including diabetes mellitus, thyroid pathologies, pituitary tumors, and adrenal insufficiencies.

Order and interpret specialized dynamic hormone testing, thyroid ultrasounds, and bone densitometry profiles.

Coordinate with primary care physicians, diabetic educators, nutritionists, and endocrine surgical specialists.

Monitor patient metabolic tracking trends and glycemic logs, promptly adjusting pharmacologic and insulin pump configurations.

Maintain immaculate electronic health records, fulfilling federal charting codes and quality healthcare metrics.
