Hematology Physician
Job Description
The Hematology/Oncology Physician is responsible for diagnosing, staging, and managing patients with malignant neoplastic diseases and complex hematological disorders. The role ensures the successful execution of systemic chemotherapies, immunotherapies, and bone marrow tracking protocols while delivering deeply compassionate, evidence-based care and leading interdisciplinary tumor boards.
Required Qualifications * Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an approved medical school.

Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency followed by a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.

Board Certification or active Board Eligibility via the ABIM in Hematology and Medical Oncology.

Active, unencumbered license to practice medicine within the state of Alabama.
Preferred Skills * Deep structural command over modern molecular therapeutics, immunotherapeutic toxicities, and clinical trial coordination.

Superb interpersonal empathy, communication mechanisms, and emotional resilience to guide compromised oncology panels.
Responsibilities Duties:
Key Responsibilities * Coordinate and execute patient diagnostic configurations, bone marrow biopsies, and molecular tumor profiling metrics.

Prepare detailed systemic oncology treatment pathways, calculating cytotoxic dosing parameters and targeted biological regimens.

Welcome and navigate patients through complex multi-modality options, discussing staging metrics and clinical trial availabilities.

Coordinate with radiation oncologists, surgical oncologists, specialized oncology nurses, and palliative care networks.

Monitor patient hematological telemetry and promptly address toxicities, neutropenic fevers, or adverse therapeutic reactions.

Maintain absolute compliance with ASCO guidelines, NCCN protocols, and secure federal chemotherapy delivery standards.
