Job Description
The Director of Surgical Services (RN) is responsible for providing strategic leadership, financial oversight, and clinical governance across all perioperative departments, including the main OR suites, PACU, and day surgery units. The role ensures the successful execution of optimal block scheduling, surgical staff matrices, and patient safety indicators while driving operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing (BSN/MSN); MSN or Master's in Healthcare Administration (MHA) is preferred.

Active, completely unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of Montana.

5+ years of progressive nursing leadership experience directing high-volume operating rooms or multi-unit perioperative service systems.
Preferred Skills * Masterful operating theater resource management, surgical service lines development, and nurse retention mapping traits.

CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) or Certified Nurse Operating Room Executive credentials are highly preferred.
Experience Required * 5+ years of relevant nursing management experience directing multi-shift surgical care pathways, OR nurse scheduling blocks, or perioperative clinical infrastructures.
Responsibilities Duties:
Key Responsibilities * Coordinate and execute departmental operational strategies, annual capital budgets, and nurse workforce configurations.

Prepare surgical service productivity evaluations, regulatory compliance portfolios, and clinical quality scorecards.

Define standardized perioperative nursing competencies, sterile protocols, and immediate infection mitigation rules.

Coordinate with Chief Nursing Officers (CNO), attending surgeons, anesthesia leadership, and sterile processing managers.

Monitor active operating room utilization benchmarks and promptly address block schedule friction points or instrument delays.

Maintain absolute compliance with AORN guidelines, CMS provisions, and Joint Commission surgical safety mandates.
