Legal Secretary
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to provide high-quality administrative and secretarial support to Partners and fee earners within a busy legal practice. The successful candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Requirements
-3–7 years' experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably within an international or reputable regional law firm.
-Strong knowledge of legal terminology and legal documentation.
-Experience supporting Partners or senior lawyers is highly desirable.
-Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
-Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook and Excel.
-Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
-Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
-Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
-Professional, discreet and client-focused approach.
-UAE legal experience would be advantageous.
Experience supporting lawyers in areas such as Corporate & Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Banking & Finance, Real Estate or Projects would be advantageous.
Responsibilities Duties:
-Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to Partners and lawyers.
-Manage complex diaries, meetings, travel arrangements and appointments.
-Prepare, format and proofread legal documents, correspondence, reports and presentations.
-Assist with the preparation and formatting of court documents, legal submissions and other filings where required.
-Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails and telephone calls.
-Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems and ensure documents are stored securely.
-Assist with time recording, billing, expenses and client invoices.
-Coordinate meetings with clients, counsel, courts and other external parties.
-Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes and follow up on action points where required.
-Conduct basic legal and administrative research.
-Support lawyers with document management, matter opening and closing procedures.
-Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
-Liaise professionally with clients and internal stakeholders.
-Provide general administrative support to the wider legal team when required.
