Job Description
Our Leading Multi National Consultancy Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Technical Director - Cost Management to join and lead their team in Dubai, heading up the Cost Management division of a major international Consultancy company. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Technical Leader in Cost Management and have relevant experience as leading Cost Management teams across multiple office geographies and project typologies working in recognised Consultancy business environments previously, ideally in the UAE.
- Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS).
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- Minimum of 10 years of industry experience and a minimum of 5 years leading teams.
- Demonstrated ability to lead Cost Management teams.
- Proven track record of driving organisational excellence, growth and success.
- A key council to decision-makers at the executive level.
- Plays a critical role in assisting the delivery of corporate strategies.
- Demonstrable ability to brand as a trusted commercial advisory partner for clients.
- Ability to manage client relationships that lead to repeat business.
- Ability to identify and enrol new clients and business.
- Responsible for internal succession planning and talent grooming for team members.
Responsibilities Duties:
- Technical leadership of Cost Management offering within assigned markets including project delivery, quality standards, resource management and recruitment.
- Providing technical leadership and support across global Cost Management offerings as part of the Cost Management team’s senior leadership
- Ensure the successful delivery of projects to exemplary levels of quality.
- Management of Client expectations to ensure future repeat work.
- Drive training initiatives and continuous technical improvement.
- Develop and expand Cost Management service lines.
- Assist and supervise team members when dealing with complex situations.
- Lead the recruitment and training of junior employees.
- Delivery of recruitment and support companywide training and ongoing mentoring/coaching programs.
- Management of Client relationships to ensure exemplary levels of Client satisfaction.
- Position the Cost Management division as leaders in the industry through prominent presence in industry forums and publications.
- Drive business development initiatives, expanding the client base and securing new Cost Management consultancy projects across assigned regions.
- Assist the submission and negotiation of CM bids and opportunities in collaboration with the Regional Director / Head of Cost Management.
- Monitor project financial performance, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve project margins and overall commercial success.
- Ensure payment follow up is executed successfully and be cognisant of positive cashflow targets across cost management projects.
- Monitor CM project contractual agreements to ensure all work being delivered is formally instructed and documented, and that all variations to scope are captured. Identifying opportunities for growth and operational improvements.
- Position the division as a ‘trusted consultant’ to key Clients and increase both market share and reputation internationally.
- Assist building and developing teams in regional offices, as well as performance evaluation, technical direction and coaching and mentoring of staff.
