Finishing Carpenter
Job Description
We are seeking skilled Finishing Carpenters to carry out high-quality carpentry and interior finishing works at construction and fit-out sites in the UAE. The candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, repairing, and finishing wooden and related interior components as per approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and site HSE requirements.
Requirements
- Experience: 1–3 years of relevant finishing carpentry experience.
- Education/Certification: Carpentry Trade Certificate preferred.
- Previous experience in UAE/GCC construction or fit-out projects is an advantage.
- Experience in residential, commercial, hospitality, or interior fit-out projects is preferred.
- Good knowledge of woodworking materials, fittings, and finishing methods.
- Ability to read basic drawings and follow site instructions. Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of site HSE requirements and proper use of PPE. Physically fit and capable of working at construction and fit-out sites.
Responsibilities Duties:
- Carry out carpentry and finishing works as per approved drawings and specifications. Measure, mark, cut, assemble, and install wooden materials accurately.
- Install doors, door frames, window frames, skirting, architraves, wall panels, and other woodwork. Install cabinets, wardrobes, shelves, counters, and other built-in furniture as required.
- Perform woodwork finishing, including sanding, trimming, polishing, and preparation for painting.
- Ensure proper alignment, level, dimensions, joints, and overall finishing quality.
- Repair, modify, and rectify defective or damaged carpentry work.
- Use hand tools, power tools, cutting machines, and carpentry equipment safely.
- Check materials and report shortages, damage, or quality issues to the Foreman/Supervisor.
- Coordinate with painters, electricians, plumbers, gypsum workers, and other trades.
- Follow approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and site instructions.
- Comply with UAE construction and fit-out HSE requirements and use the required PPE.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and keep tools and work areas clean and safe.
- Complete assigned work within project schedules and required quality standards.
