Gypsum Carpenter
Job Description
We are seeking skilled Gypsum Carpenters to carry out gypsum board, drywall, false ceiling, partition, and related interior finishing works at construction and fit-out sites in the UAE. The candidate should be able to install gypsum systems accurately as per approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and site HSE requirements.
Requirements
- Experience: 1–3 years of relevant experience in gypsum, drywall, partition, or false ceiling works.
- Education/Certification: Gypsum/Carpentry Trade Certificate preferred.
- Previous experience in UAE/GCC construction or fit-out projects is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of gypsum board installation, partitions, false ceilings, bulkheads, and decorative works.
- Ability to read and follow basic construction/shop drawings and site instructions.
- Skilled in measuring, cutting, fixing, leveling, and finishing gypsum boards.
- Knowledge of metal framing, channels, studs, and ceiling suspension systems.
- Ability to safely use hand tools and power tools.
- Good attention to detail and finishing quality.
- Knowledge of construction site HSE requirements and proper use of PPE.
- Physically fit and able to work in demanding construction/fit-out environments.
- Good teamwork, discipline, and communication skills.
Responsibilities Duties:
- Install gypsum board partitions, walls, ceilings, and bulkheads as per approved drawings. Measure, mark, cut, and fix gypsum boards accurately.
- Install metal frames, channels, studs, and support systems for gypsum works. Ensure proper alignment, level, dimensions, and finishing of gypsum installations.
- Cut openings for doors, windows, electrical points, AC ducts, and other services as required. Apply joint tape, joint compound, and finishing materials to gypsum boards.
- Carry out sanding, patching, and preparation for final painting or finishing. Inspect completed work and rectify cracks, uneven joints, or other defects.
- Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, painters, and other trades.
- Follow approved drawings, method statements, specifications, and site instructions.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and correctly.
- Follow UAE construction and fit-out site HSE requirements and use required PPE.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and keep tools and work areas clean and safe.
- Report material requirements, technical issues, and defects to the Foreman/Supervisor.
