DevOps Engineer - GCP
Job Description
As a GCP Infrastructure & DevOps specialist with a proven track record within GCP & Azure DevOps at core, you will work closely with our development teams, architects, and DevOps engineers to help build out the next version of the Company Cloud Platform. Company is a software-enabled services provider, synonymous with SAP on Cloud, focused on delivering superior, highly automated Managed Services to Enterprise customers. Our customers span multiple verticals and geographies across the Americas, EMEA and APAC. We partner with AWS, SAP, Microsoft and other global technology leaders. The team has a key responsibility for creating tools, automations, and pipelines for creating and managing GCP environments using code and where possible existing GCP services. The overall objective being to create these tools and pattens in a way that directly contributes to LCP. Day to day this will involve a mix of extending provided GCP pattens and automations as well as creating net new contributions to the code repos. The focus of this effort will be in the effective migration and management of SAP and other application resources on the GCP platform. Responsibilities Duties:
You’re probably an architect, a builder, an automator, and everything in between – that’s exactly who we’re looking for and you’ll be joining a team of people just like you. SAP experience is a huge bonus but by no means required - all of what we do is to the benefit of our customers, they primarily run SAP on cloud however much of what makes up LCP is not SAP specific. LCP is running on K8s, cloud native services, and (rarely) raw VM based compute - you’ll need to be passionate about at least one of those.
Key Skills:
Knowledge of Agile methodologies Automation Scripting languages, at least one of Powershell/Bash/Python Ansible Playbook & Role creation and Ansible Tower usage Terraform or similar IaC Linux System Administration Docker Git CNCF Experience architecting HA solutions at scale Javascript Frameworks including React.js and Node.js Programming experience in GoLang, C# .NET or Python One of these certifications would give you a big step up Associate Cloud Engineer Professional Cloud Architect Professional Cloud Developer Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer Hashicorp Certified Terraform Associate Redhat Ansible Certified
Experiance Qualifications:
If you check every box from our tech stack that’s amazing – if you don’t, ample training is provided to get you up to speed Azure DevOps: We use AzDO as the core of the DevOps & CI/CD Pipelines & generally a good hand-on within the AzDO platform is a plus. Build and Deployment Tools: Azure DevOps is our platform of choice Infrastructure as Code: Terraform is preferred & a must here, experience with any other IaC tooling is also a plus Ansible: We prefer extensive experience with building Roles/Playbooks in Ansible towards automating SAP services. At least the basics with Ansible based automation (in case there’s isn’t any prior experience in automating SAP with Ansible) is a must Linux: Proficient with Linux Operating System Kubernetes: We use Rancher for cluster management, Istio as a service mesh and for ingress control GCP: Our intention is to offer services to customers in the same cloud as where their resources are located making good general expertise here a must
