Senior Project Accountant
Job Description
Our client seeking a Senior Project Accountant to join their team in Qatar.
PROFILE
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Quantity Surveying, with an accreditation from a recognised institute in North America, Western Europe, or Australia. Ideally have Chartered status such as RICS or similar. A Professional Certification in a relevant field will be preferred.
• 15 years’ experience in a multidisciplinary organisation in the Middle East
• Experience within the utilities sector processing the payments and costing
• Demonstrable history of producing expense reports, payment trackers, etc.
• Ability to understand and managed the investment process
• Fluent in spoken and written English
Responsibilities Duties:
• Reviewing contractor invoice submissions, and ensuring that the invoice amount is calculated correctly in accordance with the contract and payment procedure requirements
• Updating the payment tracker and ensuring accuracy and completeness of information in the tracker
• Preparing payment certificates and other payment documents
• Effectively communicating with Assets Affairs staff and other relevant departments to get payments approved, processed, and to resolve any issues related to payment processing
• Identifying contracts with large unbilled amounts and following up with contractors and relevant staff to obtain the outstanding invoices and reduce the unbilled amounts
• Updating invoice templates and checklists as required
• Reviewing periodic updates to the costs and cost classification data to ensure that costs are being recorded and classified as per policy/guidelines
• Reviewing the monthly fixed assets entries/transactions in the assets register and ensuring that entries/transactions related to asset additions, depreciations, disposals, and impairments are recorded in accordance with the Operating Fixed Assets Register (OFAR) policies and procedures
