Job Description
The Senior Estimator (Heavy Civil/Highway) is responsible for producing comprehensive, accurate cost projections and competitive bidding dossiers for large-scale highway, bridge, and infrastructure initiatives. The role ensures the successful execution of material quantitative take-offs, labor productivity scheduling, and subcontractor evaluation while protecting financial targets and optimizing project win margins.
Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent operational experience fields.

6+ years of specialized experience bidding large-scale heavy civil infrastructure, earthmoving, or DOT highway developments.
Preferred Skills * Master-level expertise with professional heavy construction estimation applications (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W, AGTEK).

Exceptional analytical intuition, local market awareness, and strategic supplier bargaining abilities.
Experience Required 6+ years of relevant experience directly preparing and steering complex multimillion-dollar heavy civil or regional highway bidding packages.
Responsibilities Duties:
Key Responsibilities * Coordinate and execute end-to-end bid management, reviewing project contracts, structural profiles, and technical site specifications.

Prepare detailed material quantitative take-offs, labor pricing calculations, and heavy machinery utilization schedules.

Welcome and critique regional subcontractor bid proposals, checking for completeness and clear scoping barriers.

Coordinate with project executives, suppliers, logistics planners, and DOT civil representatives.

Monitor volatile raw material supply chains and promptly address pricing risk variables within active estimates.

Assist with closing post-bid reviews, updating internal cost historical matrices for future infrastructure pursuits.
