Job Description

The Manager of Med/Surg/Telemetry is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations, staffing allocations, and quality metrics within the medical-surgical and telemetry units. The role ensures the successful execution of optimal nurse-to-patient staffing arrangements, budget management, and clinical quality checks while maximizing safe patient outcomes and driving staff engagement.

Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an approved healthcare training track; Master's degree preferred.

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) License in the state of California.

  • 3+ years of clinical acute-care med/surg or telemetry experience coupled with progressive supervisory or charge-nurse duties.

  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.

Preferred Skills * Expert workforce allocation, nursing retention planning, and clinical team mentoring capabilities.

  • Clear, assertive communication mechanisms to guide large professional cohorts during clinical updates.

Experience Required * 3+ years of relevant nursing experience within an acute healthcare setting, including proven supervisory or leadership footprints.

Responsibilities Duties:

Key Responsibilities * Coordinate and execute frontline staff nursing assignments, daily case evaluations, and cross-shift reporting.

  • Prepare unit productivity summaries, state-level regulatory portfolios, and performance assessment records.

  • Monitor daily admission criteria, checking for patient placement accuracy and appropriate telemetry tracking.

  • Coordinate with Chief Nursing Officers (CNO), case management leaders, infection control units, and medical staff.

  • Monitor unit quality indicators (e.g., fall frequencies, pressure ulcers) and promptly address operational deviations or care practice gaps.

  • Maintain absolute compliance with California Title 22 mandates, CMS guidelines, and institutional standards.
